Crochet Lacy Square Diagram Pattern

Crochet Lacy Square Diagram Pattern, great to crochet with cotton for a tablecloth.

People have been asking for a written pattern to the square above. I can give it a go, but I may make mistakes. Please help me out by adding corrections to the comments section. Together we can help each other out to create this beautiful square.

I am going to describe the pattern as I would read it when reading the diagram above, please follow my written words with the diagram to get the gist and you will see how easy it is to read.

Written Instructions:

Chair 8 and slip stitch closed creating a ring.

Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc 3 times, chain 3, dc 4 times, chain 3, dc 4 times, chain 3, dc 4 times, chain 3, slip stitch to close off round.

Round 2: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc into the next 3 dc’s below, 2dc into the chain corner of the round below, then chain 3 and dc again (completing the first corner), finish the round in the same manner as stated previously.

Rounds 3 and 4: Same as round 2, you should seen the square increasing. Up to this point your are basically creating a simple solid granny square.

Round 5: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc into the next 7 dc’s below, chain 5, (dc 3 times, chain 3, dc 3 times {this is your corner}), chain 5, skip 2 dc’s in the previous round, dc 12 times into the dc’s of the round below), chain 5, (dc 3 times, chain 3, dc 3 times {this is your corner}), chain 5 and continue till you finish the round.

Rounds 6: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc into the next 5 dc’s below, chain 5, slip stitch into middle of chain 5 in previous round, chain 5, (dc 3 times, chain 3, dc 3 times {this is your corner}), chain 5, slip stitch into middle of chain 5 in previous round, chain 5, skip 2 dc’s in the previous round, dc 8 times into the dc’s of the round below), chain 5, (dc 3 times, chain 3, dc 3 times {this is your corner}), and continue till you finish the round.

Round 7: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc into the next 3 dc’s below, (chain 5, slip stitch into middle of chain 5 in previous round) two times, chain 5, (dc 3 times, chain 3, dc 3 times {this is your corner}), and continue until you finish the round in this pattern.

Round 8: Looks like you slip stitch into middle of the chain 5 of the previous round before the dc’s (so you take your yarn back a bit if that make sense), then chain 5 and slip stitch into the chain 5 of the round below a few times until you get to your corner which will be worked in the same way as the previous ones.

Round 9: Slip stitch into middle of the chain 5 of the previous round before the dc’s like you did for round 8, dc5 times, then chain 3 and slip stitch closed (picot edge), dc5 times, slip stitch into the middle of the 5 chains from the row below and repeat!
