Materials
• Cotton thread
• 1.50 mm steel crochet hook

Approx. 50 cm long (3 shells) × 12 cm wide.

Instructions (US Terminology)

1) Foundation

With purple thread, make a chain to the desired length.
Use the repeat: multiple of 6 + 4 chains, following Chart 1.

  • GROUP 1: (3 chains, 2 double crochets closed together with the 3 chains)
  • GROUP 2: (2 double crochets closed together)
  • GROUP 3: (3 double crochets closed together)
  • GROUP 4: (4 double crochets closed together)

NOTE: In groups 2, 3, and 4, keep the last loop of each double crochet on the hook and then close all loops together.

2) Shell Section (Chart 2)

• Move to Chart 2.
• Skip 34 double crochets from the 7th row of Chart 1.
• From that point, work 1 shell, crocheting back and forth in rows.
• Join each row of the shell to the 7th row of Chart 1 as you go.

3) Side Mesh

After completing all the shells:
• Join thread to Row 1 of Chart 1.
• Work mesh rows along the sides and around the edges of the shells.


Finishing

4) Embroidery

Embroider the petals using the instructions shown in Chart 2.
