Stitch Pattern

Work according to the stitch diagram.

Motifs A, B, and C

Follow the respective diagrams.

Joining the Motifs

Join motifs with slip stitches as shown in the diagrams, or sew them together by hand with small stitches if preferred.

Instructions

Back

  1. Make 157 chains loosely and work in Fantasy Stitch I
→ this equals 26½ motifs in Row 1.
  2. After 10 rows, decrease ½ motif every 2 rows until you have 19 motifs remaining (approx. 40 cm width).
  3. Continue straight.
  4. At 70 rows from the beginning, increase 5 motifs on each side, and repeat this increase on the 4th row
→ you will have 21 motifs per row.
  5. Continue straight until 84 rows total.
  6. Work the raglan shaping and neckline on each side as shown in the diagram, finishing each side separately.

Front

Work exactly as for the back.

Neckline Yoke (Pala)

  1. Work 12 motifs B and join them side-by-side to form a ring.
  2. Next, work 12 motifs C, join them to each other, and join them to the top edge of the row of motifs B, forming the yoke.

Dress Hem (Lower Border)

  1. Work 13 motifs A, join them to each other to form a ring.
  2. Then work another 12 motifs A the same way and join them to the first round of motifs.

Finishing

  • Sew the side seams of the dress.
  • Finish the lower edge of the dress with 1 row of sc.
  • Finish the upper edge of the hem band with 1 row of sc, placing a few decreases so this edge matches the width of the dress’ lower edge.
Join to the dress with slip stitches or sew by hand.
  • Finish the lower edge of the hem band with 2 rows of sc.
  • Position the yoke centered on the front and back necklines.
The sides that extend beyond the body will form the armholes.
  • Attach the yoke the same way you attached the hem.
  • Finish the armholes with 1 row of sc.
  • Finish the upper edge of the yoke with 2 rows of sc, distributing 6 decreases evenly in each row (1 decrease = skip 1 stitch).
